About Us

Project Enigma is a social enterprise providing tactile novelty edutainment to inspire curiosity, cultivate problem-solving, and stimulate creativity in people. We were founded in 2020 with support from the NUS Resilience & Growth Initiative, with the mission to better people’s lives through these toys. Our team has mainly comprised NUS alumni and volunteers. Since then, the core of our efforts has been to help people gain those benefits more easily.

Thanks to our donors and sponsors, our tactile novelty collection has grown to over 3,000 mechanical puzzles, science toys and other intriguing objects. Now, we bring them closer to people through our two museum-libraries, interactive pop-ups in the heartlands, subscription boxes, corporate workshops and holiday classes.

Through alternative means of access to these puzzles and toys, we hope to actively promote sustainability in the toy industry by discouraging one-off novelty purchases. Instead, alongside encouraging members of the public to visit our library, we focus on extending each puzzle’s life through extensive reuse and repair.

Our vision is to inspire and support people to be inquisitive, curious thinkers, and problem solvers. We believe that when hands-on play is involved, it turns the mind on. An alternative to screen time as well as supporting memory, focus ability and fine motor skills, we believe the benefits of puzzling are endless to people in all stages of life.
